The PEFC ™ Council (the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) is a worldwide not-for-profit organisation promoting sustainable forest management through independent third-party certification.
The PEFC ™ Council endeavours to promote good forest management practices and to ensure that timber and non-timber forest products are produced in compliance with the highest environmental, social and ethical standards. The PEFC ™ logo and label provide information on the origin of products emanating from sustainably managed forests. The main purpose of the PEFC ™ logo and label is to encourage the demand for and the supply of products originating from forests that are managed in a sustainable manner, thereby stimulating the potential market trend towards continuous improvement of the world's forest resources.
