Who is concerned?

Any organisation seeking certification, whether registered in Italy or abroad and regardless of its business sector or size

In order to remain competitive, businesses must protect and enhance their resources, in terms of organisational structure and of human resources, thereby ensuring their resilience and efficiency over time. The adoption of a health and safety at work standard effectively helps to counter the number of work-related injuries and illnesses, the cost of which, for most European Union countries, is estimated to be between 2.6% and 3.8% of gross domestic product.  This cost is not only a burden on individual companies, but also on the national economy. (Source: OHSA).Certified businesses have much lower rates of accidents than non-certified businesses, being on average 27% lower in terms of frequency and 35% lower in terms of severity (Source: Osservatorio Accredia). For this reason, the number of certifications has more than doubled over the past four years and, in spite of the economic downturn, growth remains high.

Your Benefits

Our Services

Certification against the OHSAS 18001 standard consists in documentary evaluation of the successful implementation of the management system, legal compliance sample checks using plain language checklist forms and on-site inspections complemented by personnel interviews in order to assess awareness and involvement levels with respect to health and safety at work. The output of our services, in addition to the issuance of a certificate following a successful audit, is also the identification of opportunities for improvement that the organisation can pursue.

The Certification Process

Certification against BS OHSAS 18001 provides the following benefits:

  • It contributes effectively to reducing work-related accidents - as evidenced by the privileged access to the insurance premium reductions granted to businesses by the Italian National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work (INAIL). A sample survey of 70 Certiquality customers showed that average premium reductions stand at 14% when compared to premiums paid prior to certification.
  • It demonstrates your organisation’s commitment to preventing responsibility for health and safety issues under Italian Legislative Decree no. 231/2001.
  • It assists your organisation in maintaining legal compliance, thereby preserving it from health and safety sanctions by public authorities.
  • It enhances your business assets, through its scheduled maintenance programme for example.
